I need to  use the system gethrtime() on linux redhat5.1 , but I can't find the header file where it 's declared  where can i find it on redhat5.1 ?

I assume you really mean Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1?  (RH 5.1 was an ancient
product released sometime in the mid 90s...)

I don't believe that function is currently implemented in Linux/glibc...  You might want
to look into clock_gettime() instead...  It sounds like maybe CLOCK_PROCESS_CPUTIME_ID
might be similar to what you need...
