Re: Writing a C++ socket class.

Hi,

I'm supposed to write a socket class for the C++ Unix based application.

This socket class will be used by the tcp_services and udp_services packages (that I shall write :)). The class has to support both STREAM and DATAGRAM sockets.

So, I'm looking for a good example for such a class.

Thanks.

Re: Writing a C++ socket class.

Is this just a wrapper class that wraps around linux socket functions?

Re: Writing a C++ socket class.

Actally I've already wrote it.
But some advice is always helpful :)

It isn't for Linux, but for IBM AIX Unix.

Thanks.

Re: Writing a C++ socket class.

Have you looked at the socket++ or ACE packages?

The socket++ is available for *nixes and Windows...  though the Windows Visual C++ projects are outdated... and the functionality is more limited...

ACE has been around a while, has a lot of docs... and is fairly complete... but um... a bit bloated...
