Hello,

I am running a C application and want to log if it start, if it shutdown in between standard run time.

How can I do it through C in unix programming.

Is openlog()/syslog()/closelog() what you're looking for?

Or do you want to log it from outside? That's a lot harder because external
programs don't get notifications when a random other process starts or exits.
