Hai, am Farrah from India. I got this from google site. am posting my message for the
first time in this board.
Thanking You
Bots try to be smarter nowadays, they're aware of us admins. So they try to
give us a false sense of comfort by posting something harmless first. Then
later when they do spam, it's harder for us to recognize it. Or they count on
new users and their first post to be moderated, and think we've no time to
read ALL posts (ha!).
But more likely they're just hanging in there, ready to sell their spam services
to anyone willing to pay. "We've 6 million dormant spambots with valid
accounts, no matter how stupid your product, we'll find someone who'll buy
it anyway. Just pay."
Wouldn't surprise me if the long awaited AI breakthrough comes from
spammers though... The most interesting one I can remember was the
one that repeated the first answer to a new thread later on in the same
thread. And some randomly generated messages look quite real, especially
if they're old posts (partially) copied.
And some bots are actually just poor people paid for creating accounts and
stuff like that (bypassing captchas), very sad.

Yeah, that was kind of the impression I was getting too, but when they pull shit like that, it just confuses me... There's no obvious spam anywhere, and they're seeming to post actual somewhat on-topic replies in a variety of threads, as well as creating not entirely outrageous new ones... I hate to overreact and delete a real person who just happened to be a bit too overenthusiastic about posting somewhere new... But, yeah... It does seem very odd...
